Description

Rest in Pieces invites you to attend this very special, introductory Taxidermy Workshop. The course will take you on your own journey into this fascinating art form and will help you come to grips (literally!) with some of the techniques involved in creating taxidermy.

Throughout the day you will learn how to skin and preserve your little rat, as well as how to mount him into a beautiful but very greedy cheese fiend. Everything will be supplied on the day including your rat, all the necessary tools, an apron, snacks, lunch, great company, and even a glass of celebratory bubbles!

No previous taxidermy experience is necessary.

Would you like to book a take home kit for $100?

Workshop + kit contains the following:

- Frozen rat

- Tools for skinning and mounting your specimen

- Products for preservation

- List of instructions used on the day

Please note: if you are flying in for the workshop and want a take home kit, you will need to have checked-in luggage as the sharp items will not be accepted in hand luggage.

05 March 2019 • Rest in Pieces Taxidermy Workshop

The Beginner's Taxidermy Workshop is an absolute Joy. Nat and Sofia really took us by the hand on every single process and provide us with just enough guidance and support that no one was left behind. I believe that the workshop gave me enough confidence to practice taxidermy again on my own. Nat will demonstrate how to do each step properly and then wait until everyone is able to complete the step before continuing. Not only were we provided the technical skills, but Nat also did a bit of a talk on how best to keep specimens before taxidermy and the regulations of taxidermy in different states. Snacks and bubbles were awesomely provided, as well as a soothing playlist selection. The only drawback really is that I underestimated how intense it could be - quite a tiring day but definitely self-satisfying! Amazing people and the start of an amazing community. Will definitely be back for more workshops!

Nat and her team are awesome. I had a lot of fun, learned heaps and hope to take the intermediate session next! If nothing else, it's something different that you definitely won't experience any where else.
