Rest in Pieces invites existing students from the 1-day beginner taxidermy class, people who have completed the baby chick workshop previously or participants who have completed the DIY Revival kit to join us a very unusual Baby Chick Workshop!

Rest in Pieces is being featured on a brand new channel 7 Lifestyle program and as such we will have a film crew, 2 hosts from the show completing the afternoon portion of the workshop, interviews happening and no doubt lots of interruptions!

Given that this is the case we are offering the workshop at a discounted price as it won't exactly be the 'normal' RIP experience. It is the perfect opportunity to make your TV debut, enjoy a fun day or even just complete this great class at a cheaper price than the norm.

The other catch is....... It's on a Tuesday.  It's like Taco Tuesday but not quite!

Throughout the workshop Nat will build upon and refine your skills in skinnning, fleshing, preserving, and mounting a complete specimen. You will also be guided through the traditional torso building technique of soft body wrapping and learn to preserve the feet with injections.

At the end of the workshop you will walk away with a gorgeous Baby Chick and be given the option to purchase a wooden base or a wooden base and chick-sized dome to mount your specimen from the class on.

And of course we have a take home kit available to purchase so you can practice your newly acquired skills in your own time.

As usual, the RIP team will take care of everything for you. All necessary tools along with your specimen, apron, snacks, drinks, and wine will be provided on the day.

Would you like to book a take home kit?

Workshop + Kit contains the following:

- Frozen baby Chick

- Tools for skinning and mounting your specimen

- Products for cleaning, fleshing, and preservation

- Wooden base to mount specimen on (purchase an extra wooden base if you want one for your class specimen to sit on)

- List of instructions from the workshop

Please note: if you are flying in from interstate and want a take home kit, you will need to have checked in luggage as many of the sharp items will not be accepted in hand luggage.

As usual the RIP team delivered yet another amazing class. I learned some wonderful new skills and had a really fun time doing it. I look forward to attending more classes in the future.

What a day! A room filled with cute little furry friends to play with - and then there's the baby chicks. This is such a well thought out, inclusive, organised and informative class. Nat is a teaching Goddess with patience and evil humour in equal measures...and Soph - her able-bodied assistant - who is a glorious blend of super efficiency and warm fuzziness (thanks hunny, I really did need that slap at the 8 hour mark) goes above and beyond the call of duty. The day was very much fun, I absolutely loved it! However, it is a long...long day (punctuated with a delicious lunch with wine!) so perhaps we could each have a little sleep station set up next to our table, with jim-jams, eye masks and a little chockie on the pillow? Then, after our naps, we get up and continue to taxidermy throughout the night...just a thought.
