Brisbane - Rest in Pieces Taxidermy Workshop

Beginners Taxidermy

Book Now (https://restinpieces.weteachme.com/l/p3ibjzEr)

Description

Rest in Pieces is hitting the road and is coming to Brisbane.

We invite you to attend this very special, introductory Taxidermy Workshop. The course will take you on your own journey into this fascinating art form and will help you come to grips (literally!) with some of the techniques involved in creating taxidermy.

Throughout the day you will learn how to skin and preserve your little rat, as well as how to mount him into a beautiful but very greedy cheese fiend. Everything will be supplied on the day including your rat, all the necessary tools, an apron, snacks, lunch, great company, and even a glass of celebratory bubbles!

While we have allowed 10 hours for the day we don't believe it will take this long. Of course, everyone works at their own pace but the sooner you finish the sooner you get to the glass of bubbles! : )

No previous taxidermy experience is necessary.

If you have a rat phobia we can provide a mouse but the rats have a very sweet face and are incredibly fluffy. Plus they are slightly larger than a mouse so they are easier to work on.

We also have take home kits available!

Want to practice your skills? Just select Workshop + Kit

Your Take Home kit contains the following:

- Frozen rat

- Tools for skinning and mounting your specimen

- Products for preservation

- List of instructions used on the day

Please note: if you are flying in for the workshop and want a take home kit, you will need to have checked-in luggage as the sharp items will not be accepted in hand luggage.

Brilliant! I loved every minute of this class. Natalie and her RIP team created a supportive and fun atmosphere to learn these skills and come away with a sense of achievement. It brought together a diverse bunch of students from different backgrounds which added to the fun of the day. A great learning experience all round.

I had soo much fun and learnt a lot at the beginner taxidermy class held in Brisbane on Australia Day! The class was not only run so professionally and smoothly but we had an awesome bunch of people who attended which made for a really fun day. Nat and her team have really demonstrated that they know how to run a training environment balancing work and fun. I am sooo looking forward to attending more classes with these guys as not only am I now hooked on the art, but they are such wonderful likeminded talented people I’d care to spend more time with. 10/10

The workshop was fantastic. Nat explained the steps to preserve the rat in detail and she and her team were always on hand to help. Well organised class and everyone enjoyed the day. Highly recommended!
